How Photo Enhancer works
A conventional upscaler averages between pixels it already has, which is why enlarged images look blurry. This model instead predicts what detail plausibly belongs at the higher resolution, based on everything it has learned about how real surfaces, edges, and textures look. That's a reconstruction, not a recovery — it produces convincing detail, but detail that was never in the original file.

Does it recover detail that was really there?
No — it reconstructs plausible detail rather than recovering lost information. The result looks convincingly sharp, but fine detail is generated. That matters for anything forensic or evidentiary.
Does it work on AI-generated images?
Yes, and it's one of the most common uses. Generate at standard size, pick your favourite, then upscale only that one — much cheaper than generating everything large.
How large can the output be?
