Turn a rough sketch into finished artwork

Sketch to Art takes the drawing you have — pencil, biro, tablet scribble — and renders it as a finished piece. Your lines set the composition and the pose; your prompt sets the medium, palette, and level of finish.

How Sketch to Art works

This is the fastest route from idea to presentable image, because you're not describing composition in words at all — you're drawing it. That's what makes it more reliable than a pure text prompt when you already know exactly how the frame should be arranged. Clean, high-contrast lines read best; very faint pencil may need a contrast boost before you upload.

Upload your sketch

Clean, high-contrast lines give the model the most to work with.

Describe the finish

"Digital painting, cool evening light, muted palette, soft edges."

Iterate

Keep the sketch, change the prompt, and compare finishes side by side.

What people use it for

  • Take a napkin sketch to a client-ready concept in one pass
  • Render storyboard frames without drawing each one to finish
  • Colour and light character designs you've already blocked out
  • Explore several finishes for the same drawing by changing only the prompt

Sketch to Art questions

How rough can the sketch be?

Rough is fine — the model reads structure, not craft. What matters is contrast: dark lines on a light background. Very faint pencil is worth boosting in contrast before you upload.

Will it keep my exact composition?

It follows your layout and pose closely. Fine detail gets reinterpreted during rendering, so treat small elements as suggestions rather than fixed.

How is this different from Design Sketch?

They're opposites. Sketch to Art takes a sketch and finishes it. Design Sketch takes a finished photo and reduces it to a sketch.
